This season marked my debut on the complete fashion circuit, covering shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. While fulfilling a personal dream, the journey presented a significant logistical puzzle, particularly around packing. The core challenge was fitting three weeks’ worth of outfits for the European leg into just two suitcases—a task that eventually required a third.
Based in Los Angeles, I returned home after New York Fashion Week to swap out my wardrobe and repack before embarking for Europe. Each city possesses a unique fashion identity, and part of the enjoyment lies in embracing those subtle, unspoken style codes. While I always appreciate the curated looks for the shows themselves, the real sartorial magic often unfolds in the moments in between: dashing to appointments, meeting friends for coffee, and, inevitably, shopping. Here, I’m sharing a breakdown of the chicest street-style outfits I wore in each of these fashion capitals.
New York proved to be the coldest of the cities. Staying warm was a genuine necessity, not just a style choice. My approach in NYC centered on substantial coats, hats, gloves, and, above all, strategic layering. A standout combination involved a layered turtleneck under a white button-down shirt, topped with a fur-trim coat—achieving both warmth and style. I also seized the opportunity to wear a tiger-print fur coat by Charlotte Simone, which had been waiting in my closet. It was paired with my reliable Nili Lotan Joan jeans and a black Everlane turtleneck. The beauty of New York style is its embrace of eclecticism; adventurous prints and patterns find a natural home here.
In London, I leaned into the city’s signature posh and tailored aesthetic. A standout look featured a fabulous Liberowe coat worn as a top, combined with SLVRLAKE jeans and my favorite Chanel slingback heels. I also found myself drawn to wearing a tie-top by Sandy Liang in London, even though it was initially packed for Paris—the combination of a tie and a trench coat simply felt right for the city’s ambiance. A key accessory was an unbranded vintage tassel belt cinched at the waist.
Milan presented a packing challenge, as I was less familiar with the city. As a renowned fashion capital, I anticipated bold styles, but the street-level fashion risks and vibrant use of color were still a delightful surprise. Inspired by this energy, I wore an orange crocodile-embossed leather jacket by Saks Potts with brown trousers from Frankie Shop. Another favorite ensemble was a spontaneous creation: a Wardrobe.NYC dress, originally intended to be worn on its own, was instead styled as a jacket over jeans and a white A.L.C. button-down shirt on my final day. This improvisation resulted in one of my most-loved looks from the entire month.
For Paris, the goal was to align with the city’s classic, delicate, and effortlessly chic fashion sensibility. I had saved a vintage Oscar de la Renta fur-trim dress for the occasion, which was perfect for a warmer spring evening, accessorized with pieces from the French brand LouLou de Saison. During my stay, I frequently reached for my vintage Levi’s jeans, styling them with a simple white Zara turtleneck and a vintage Ralph Lauren ponyhair zebra-print jacket. The result was an outfit that felt easy, comfortable, and authentically personal.
